Teutonic Jazz Odyssey

Jazz Odyssey is Teutonic's improvised white blend, and like the Spinal Tap bit it takes its name from, it comes out different every time. The 2025 brings together Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer: crisp, light and bright, with mouthwatering stone fruit, ripe citrus and a cool streak of minerality.

It is tangy and off-dry – a touch of sweetness, nowhere near dessert – with enough acidity to stand up to spicy food, hearty dishes and cocktail hour alike. Teutonic founders Barnaby and Olga Tuttle make wine in Portland with a deep reverence for Germany's Mosel and almost none for convention, sourcing only from cool, high-elevation, dry-farmed Oregon sites so the vines root deep.

They make roughly 5,000 cases a year across the range. The blend shifts with the vintage because the vintage shifts: that is the whole idea.

Serve it well chilled, and pour it for the friends who think they have tried everything.
