Hours & visit

What are your hours?

Tuesday–Thursday 3–10 PM, Friday 3–11 PM, Saturday 2–11 PM, Sunday 2–6 PM. Closed Mondays. Holiday hours may vary — we post them on Instagram.

Where is the shop?

955 Washington Street in Dubuque, Iowa, in the Historic Millwork District. Look for the exposed brick storefront with the EJ's sign.

Is there parking?

Street parking on Washington and Jackson. The Millwork District lot behind us is free after 5 PM.

Is the shop accessible?

Yes — ground floor entrance on Washington with no steps. The tasting room is also fully accessible. Let us know if there's anything we can do to make your visit easier.

Are you dog-friendly?

Service animals always welcome. Otherwise, please leave the pup at home — we're a small space.

Wines & beers

Can I buy wine online?

We don't ship wine — it's all in-store pickup. You can browse our selection online, then come by or call (563) 239-9080 and we'll set bottles aside for you.

How much wine do you carry?

Around 300 wines and 80 beers at any given time. We rotate frequently — so what's on the shelf this month may not be there next month.

Do you take requests for specific wines?

Absolutely. If we don't carry it, we'll tell you honestly. If we can get it, we'll find out for you.

What price range do your wines cover?

Most bottles between $15 and $40. We also stock special occasion bottles up to $200, plus an everyday section under $15.

Events & tastings

How do I buy tickets?

From our /events page. Click the event you want, hit "Get tickets," and you'll get an email confirmation right away.

How big are tastings?

Usually 16 people. We do a few larger ones for popular themes (up to 24).

What happens at a tasting?

Four 3-oz wine pours paired with four 1-oz cheese portions over about 90 minutes. Your host walks you through each pairing.

What if a tasting is sold out?

Join the waitlist — we email you if a seat opens up. Members also get 48-hour early access before tickets go public, so consider joining the club.

Can I cancel a ticket?

Full refund up to 48 hours before the event. After that, we'll transfer your ticket to a future tasting or to a friend.

Memberships

What's the difference between Wine Club tiers?

Tiers vary by how many bottles per month and what style. 1 Bottle Mixed gets a curated bottle each month rotating between reds and chilled. Chilled Only gets one chilled wine. Red Only gets one red. 2 Bottles Mixed gets one red + one chilled.

Do memberships auto-renew?

No. Memberships are 6-month terms with a one-time payment. We won't surprise you with a charge.

Can I gift a membership?

Yes — pick a tier on the membership page and check "gift this" at checkout. The recipient gets an activation email.

What if I don't like a selection?

Tell us next time you're in, and we'll swap it for something more your style.

Can I switch tiers mid-term?

Yes — upgrade or downgrade at the next month's pickup. Email or stop in to let us know.

Reservations

How far ahead should I book?

A week ahead is safe for weekends. Last-minute requests welcome but subject to availability.

Is there a minimum spend for the back room?

No minimum. The back room is free to reserve.

Can I bring outside food?

Yes — bring trays, cater it, order pizza. We can recommend local catering that pairs well with our list.

Orders & tickets

Where's my ticket email?

Check your spam folder. If it's not there, email cheers@ejswineshop.com with your name and event date — we'll resend it.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets get a full refund up to 48 hours before the event. Memberships are non-refundable but you can pause months. Email us for anything edge-case.

Is my payment info stored?

No. Stripe handles payment and we never see your card number. You'll re-enter it for each order.

Account

How do I create an account?

Accounts are created automatically when you buy a membership or event ticket. You'll get an activation email after your purchase.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password?" — we'll email you a reset link.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email cheers@ejswineshop.com with the request and we'll handle it within 24 hours.
