EVENT DESCRIPTION

Salt makes wine taste better. Sweet makes wine taste different. Put them next to each other and you've got an evening.

For one night only, we're turning the shop into a four-stop tasting flight built around two of the most underrated pairing categories on earth – kettle chips and chocolate. Yes, really. Two flavors of Carolina Kettle hand-cooked chips. Two pieces of Betty Jane Candies (the local legends behind the Gremlin since 1938). And four wines pulled to make each bite better than it has any right to be.

No seated dinner. No lecture. Drop in anytime between 3 and 9 PM, work your way through the four pours at your own pace, and leave knowing why your favorite snack just got an upgrade.

Tickets are $30 and capped at 40. The last few of these we ran sold out, so don't sleep on it.

THE LINEUP

• Carolina Kettle Salt & Balsamic Vinegar + Raw Bar Vinho Verde – Portuguese white with a whisper of fizz, built for tang.

• Carolina Kettle Bee Sting Honey Sriracha + Denny Bini 'Festa' Lambrusco – organic Italian sparkling red that shrugs off chili heat.

• Betty Jane Milk Chocolate Gremlins + Les Lunes Zinfandel – natural-wine Zin from Mendocino. Yes, dry red with milk chocolate. Trust us.

• Betty Jane Shortbread Caramel Bar + Belasco Llama Old Vine Malbec – 100-year-old Argentine vines and a buttery caramel bar walk into a tasting room…
