About this tasting

Event Description

You don't need a fancy cheese degree or to pronounce "charcuterie" correctly to appreciate great cheese and wine. Come hang out with us for an evening where we're pairing some of the best artisanal cheeses from Hook's Cheese Company (yes, Wisconsin makes incredible cheese – who knew?) with carefully selected imported wines.

The beauty of this event? Drop in whenever you want between 3 PM and 9 PM. Stay for 30 minutes or the whole evening. Bring a friend. Bring your pretentious friend. Bring your "I only drink beer" friend and prove them wrong. We'll have all four pairings available throughout the event, so you can taste at your own pace and figure out which combinations make you the happiest.

We're talking creamy, tangy, nutty, and downright delicious cheese paired with wines from France, Germany, and beyond. No stuffy wine bars. No judgment. Just good cheese, good wine, and good company.

The Pairings

1. Hook's Red Errigal & Metairie Cabernet Sauvignon

2. Hook's Sheep Milk Havarti & Günther Schlink Pinot Noir Rosé

3. Hook's Galway Bay & Laroque Chardonnay

4. Hook's 5-Year Swiss & Château Saint Bernard Bordeaux Supérieur

Dubuque, Iowa is the go-to spot for taking your palate on a little adventure.

About Our Cheese Partner

Hook's Cheese Company in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, has been crafting award-winning artisanal cheese since 1976. Master Cheesemakers Tony and Julie Hook have perfected aged cheddars, innovative mixed-milk cheeses, and some of the finest blues in the country. They source milk from the same small family farms they've worked with for over 40 years, proving that consistency, quality, and a little Wisconsin stubbornness create magic.
