Württemberg

Württemberg is Germany's fourth largest wine region, situated in southwestern Germany along the Neckar River valley. The region is notable for producing primarily red wines (about 70% of production), which is unusual among German wine regions, with Trollinger being the signature grape variety, along with Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Schwarzriesling (Pinot Meunier), and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). The local climate is relatively warm and dry with mineral-rich soils, contributing to wines that are typically lighter in body with moderate acidity and often consumed young, particularly the popular Trollinger which is considered the everyday wine of the region.
