Umbria

Umbria is a landlocked wine region in central Italy, nestled between Tuscany and Marche, known for its rolling hills and medieval towns. The region produces both red and white wines, with Sangiovese and Sagrantino dominating red production, while Grechetto, Trebbiano, and Orvieto blends are the primary white wines. Montefalco's Sagrantino DOCG represents the pinnacle of Umbrian winemaking, producing powerful, tannic reds with exceptional aging potential, while the ancient white wine Orvieto maintains historical significance.
