Swartland

Swartland is a wine region located in the Western Cape province of South Africa, north of Cape Town, known for its hot, dry climate and diverse soil types including granite, slate, and clay. The region has gained international recognition for its Rhône-style blends and old-vine Chenin Blanc, with many producers embracing organic and minimal-intervention winemaking approaches. Other important varieties include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Tinta Barroca, often crafted into full-bodied, expressive wines that reflect the region's rugged terroir.
