Almansa

Almansa is a Spanish DO wine region located in the southeastern part of Albacete province, forming a transition zone between the central plateau of La Mancha and the Mediterranean coast. The region experiences a continental climate with Mediterranean influences, characterized by hot summers, cold winters, and limited rainfall, with vineyards planted at elevations between 700-1000 meters on predominantly limestone and sandy soils. Almansa specializes in red wines primarily made from Monastrell, Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet), and Tempranillo, though international varieties like Syrah are increasingly planted, producing wines known for their robust character, deep color, and good aging potential.
