Elicio Rouge, IGP Méditerranée Description
Meet the wine that proves the French have mastered the art of making everyday feel special. The name ‘Elicio’, meaning ‘to evoke’ in Latin, aptly captures the spirit of this wine, which is inviting, expressive, and made to be enjoyed. Xavier Logette at Caravinsérail has created something that sounds way fancier than it acts, which is precisely what we want in a wine. This isn’t the kind of bottle that demands you put on your best clothes and discuss terroir for an hour – it’s the wine equivalent of that friend who shows up in jeans but somehow makes everyone else look better.
What makes Elicio Rouge particularly clever is its unexpected blend. While most Southern Rhône wines play it safe with traditional combinations, this one throws equal parts Merlot and Syrah into the mix, with some Grenache for good measure. This unusual blend surprises with its freshness and versatile, easy drinkability, yet remains unmistakably of the warm and lush Southern Rhône.
It comes with a screw cap because, let’s be honest, sometimes you want to open a bottle without performing a ritual. Elicio wines are fun and “drink-anytime” wines that express the authentic flavors of the grape varieties from the South-East of France, proving that sometimes the best wines are the ones that don’t make you work too hard to enjoy them.
